In a departure from the usual matchday practice, the players had a light training session on Thursday morning ahead of tonight’s Cup clash with Villarreal, which kicks off at 10 pm local time.
The appearance of the Barça squad generated quite a stir though the session was held in private after the first ten minutes. The players, who arrived in Villarreal on Wednesday evening, did a number of stretching and warm-up exercises. The coaches decided on this relatively unusual session because of the lateness of tonight’s kick-off time. Excitement Reporters were only allowed to follow the first ten minutes of the session help at the Villarreal sports complex. Even so, players from the local reserve and youth squads were eager to catch of glimpse of the Barça players from their seats in the stand. There were also plenty of people in and around the sports complex drawn by the opportunity to see the visiting players. The players and coaches will return to Barcelona on Friday morning. |
